Celebrating the 30th and 20th Anniversaries of the John von Neumann and Herbert Simon Awards by Rajk College for Advanced Studies

This year, we celebrate two milestones of our academic awards: the 30th anniversary of the John von Neumann Award and the 20th anniversary of the Herbert Simon Award.
Granted through a democratic process by the community of Rajk College for Advanced Studies, these awards honor internationally distinguished scholars whose research and practical work have had a lasting impact on the economic and management thinking of our students. Their uniqueness lies in the fact that - unlike most academic prizes - they are not bestowed by professional committees but by a student community.
At the jubilee conference, we evoke the spirit of our past awardees, while Rajk alumni - themselves recognized experts in their respective fields - will deliver engaging presentations.
The event is open to members of the academic community, business and public policy professionals, the College for Advanced Studies Movement, current and former Rajk members, and university students – all those interested are warmly invited.
The conference will begin with a welcome speech by Attila Chikán, followed by a plenary discussion and then two parallel sessions (Economics and Management) featuring short presentations. The detailed program will be available under the event.
The aim of the event is to embody the spirit of the awards by combining academic rigor with accessibility and practical relevance.

Idén ünnepeljük akadémiai díjaink, a Neumann János-díj 30., valamint a Herbert Simon-díj 20. évfordulóját.
Ezeket a díjakat a Rajk Szakkollégium közössége demokratikus folyamat keretében ítéli oda olyan nemzetközileg kiemelkedő szakembereknek, akik kutatásaikkal és gyakorlati munkájukkal maradandó hatást gyakorolnak a rajkosok közgazdaságtani és gazdálkodástani gondolkodására.
E díjak egyedülállósága abban rejlik, hogy – a legtöbb akadémiai elismeréstől eltérően – nem szakmai testület, hanem a hallgatók közössége ítéli oda őket.
A jubileumi konferencián az eddigi díjazottak szellemiségét idézzük meg, miközben a Rajk alumni tagjai – akik maguk is saját szakterületük elismert képviselői – izgalmas előadásokkal várják az érdeklődőket.
Az esemény nyitott az akadémiai közösség, az üzleti és közpolitikai szakemberek, a Szakkollégiumi Mozgalom tagjai, a jelenlegi és volt szakkollégisták, valamint az egyetemi hallgatók számára – minden érdeklődőt szeretettel várunk.
A konferencia Chikán Attila köszöntője után plenáris beszélgetéssel kezdődik, amelyet két párhuzamos szekció (közgazdaságtani és gazdálkodástani) követ, ahol rövid előadásokat hallgathatunk meg.
A részletesebb program az esemény alatt lesz olvasható. A rendezvény célja, hogy a díjak szellemiségében a tudományos igényességet a közérthetőséggel és a gyakorlati hasznossággal ötvözze.
